The PRIEST CLOTH collection of Loro Piana from 100% Wool Super 150 S fabrics at summerlike 220 g/m. This especially fine Merino worsted woolen yarn meets the highest requirements, this yarn has conditioned crease-resistant and extremely hard-wearing characteristics. It is extraordinary light, fine, luxurious, and soft to the touch, and it also falls very elegantly.
Merino virgin wool is the highest grade new sheep’s wool with its very own completely natural thermo-regulatory characteristics, absorbing much humidity and releasing it to the ambient air without feeling damp. This quality attribute of Merino wool is shaped and promoted by the hair type and the formation of the coat. The classification results exclusively from the refinement of the wool.
Today the Merino sheep is one of the oldest breeds of sheep in the world, dating back to 12th century Spain, where it was bred and interbred. Over the generations, further breeding led to whiter and softer wool, making it as precious as gold and increasing the demand for this highly valuable commodity after it was recognized by the aristocracy as a symbol of prosperity.
