Exceptional craftsmanship must be visible in the work. Manufaktur Bavaria and ROBE SHOP invite accomplished tailors, specialist makers and ateliers to introduce their work. We are continually seeking outstanding expertise for individually commissioned garments and an increasingly personal service for our international clientele.
From our atelier in Landshut, Germany, we create bespoke robes and luxury coats. Manufaktur Bavaria is the official robe supplier to the Unified Patent Court (UPC). Our robes are also worn by judges of Germany’s Federal Constitutional Court and by U.S. District Judges. Every commission deserves the same care in its cut, construction and finish.
Precious cloth demands precise hands
Our work includes robes in ultrafine Merino wool, Merino-cashmere and Merino-silk, alongside luxury coats in 100% cashmere and vicuña. We work with cloth from Holland & Sherry, Scabal and Loro Piana, selected for the individual commission.
We look for demonstrable experience with fine cloth: controlled cutting, accurate grain and nap alignment, appropriate support and pressing, balanced construction, clean seams and refined hand finishing. Please identify your actual experience with cashmere and vicuña separately and show the work you personally completed.
From a single detail to the complete bespoke garment
- Specialist workmanship: exceptionally accurate work on individual robe components, collars, cuffs, facings, pockets, linings and other carefully defined stages.
- Complete garment making: translating our patterns and supplied cloth into beautifully balanced robes and coats, with reliable fitting adjustments and meticulous finishing.
- Full bespoke expertise: developing an individual pattern from a client’s measurements and wishes, conducting fittings and completing the garment to an exacting standard.
Please describe the stages you can take responsibility for with confidence. Technical precision, consistency, discretion and a deep respect for valuable materials are essential at every level.
Personal service in the United States, Gulf region and China
For selected commissions, we are developing relationships with exceptional local tailors and ateliers in the United States, the Gulf region and China. The aim is to offer clients even more personal support with measurements and fittings, and, where agreed for the individual project, local making using our patterns and the cloth we supply.
Please state your country, city, languages and practical service area. In the Gulf region, we welcome introductions from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. If you are willing to travel internationally to clients for measurements and fittings, please indicate the destinations you can cover, particularly the USA, Gulf region and China.
Please state the exact fabric composition for each example, distinguishing pure vicuña from blends. For local production, readiness to follow agreed workmanship specifications and participate in technical sample and final-quality reviews is essential.

Send a concise introduction and a portfolio showing both complete garments and close-up construction details. Please include:
- Your specialism, training and relevant professional experience.
- Examples of work you personally cut, constructed or finished, including interior workmanship.
- Your experience with cashmere, vicuña, ultrafine Merino and silk blends.
- Your pattern-cutting and fitting capabilities, equipment and current capacity.
- Your location, languages and availability for local appointments or travel.
We assess the quality and consistency of the work itself. Please share client-approved or anonymised examples. Outstanding specialists in a defined part of the process are as welcome as makers capable of completing an entire bespoke commission.
