Why a coat from our house

We dress people whose presence matters in public.

A robe is seen for hours, from every row of the hall. It must lend poise, drape quietly and fit without drawing attention to itself. We ask the same of a coat.

Yours is made once: cut for you, first as a cotton toile, then in cashmere. It leaves our house only when the fit is right.

The way to your coat

Five steps. One person to call.

  1. 01ComposeCut, cloth, lining, length — here in the shop, as with our robes.
  2. 02MeasurementsIn the atelier in Landshut or with our coat measuring kit; then twenty minutes by video with Yeşim Küçükay.
  3. 03Toile fittingYour coat first in undyed cotton, over your own jacket. No cashmere is cut before the toile fits.
  4. 04MakingBy hand in Landshut. Around four weeks from measuring to handover.
  5. 05HandoverYeşim Küçükay hands you your coat — your cut, your cloth and your measurements stay with us.

Your coat

Compose your coat.

Cut, cloth and interior — your choice. After you order, Yeşim Küçükay will contact you personally to arrange measurements, your toile and fitting. No cashmere is cut until the toile fits.

The interior view follows your choice of cloth, lining, stitching and label.

The Interior

The outside shows the coat. The inside bears your name.

Every coat has a label embroidered with your initials or name inside the lining. The Manufaktur Bavaria label sits at the back of the neck. We keep your pattern, cloth details and measurements for later alterations and your next coat.

Choose from the 15 designs on our Fabric & Lining Card — Solid, Paisley or Mondo — or specify a lining of your own. Horn buttons, with stitching tone on tone or in a light contrast.

The Process

The making of your coat

  1. Order

    Choose your cut, cloth and interior, and order directly from our shop.

  2. Consultation

    Yeşim Küçükay will contact you personally for a consultation at the atelier, by telephone or by video.

  3. Measurements

    At the atelier in Landshut, or from home with our coat measurement form. We then go through your measurements with you in a twenty-minute video call.

  4. Cotton toile

    Your coat in toile, fitted over your own jacket. We assess fit, length and movement.

  5. Making

    Cut and made in our Landshut atelier.

  6. Delivery

    Collect your coat at the atelier, or receive it at home by insured shipping.

Allow about four weeks from taking measurements to delivery. For delivery before Christmas, we accept orders placed by November 15.

Your Own Design

Have a coat in mind that does not yet exist? We will design it with you.

A sketch, a photograph or a few words. A different collar, greater length, a hood on a Chesterfield, a lining in the colours of your faculty.

Within 48 hours of the consultation, you receive an image of your coat, designed and reviewed by us.

After the workshop review, we provide a firm price within five days. Making begins only then.

The Cloth

Pure cashmere from Holland & Sherry and Scabal.

Holland & Sherry has supplied cloth to tailors around the world since 1836. For Light Camel and Charcoal we use Classic Overcoats & Topcoats: 100% cashmere, dense, warm and softly lustrous — available now.

Beige, Camel, Navy, Black and Bordeaux are cut from Scabal cashmere, the ZEUS bunch — 460 or 540 grams per running metre, in their own price tier, available now.

Cashmere has to be felt. The atelier answers every swatch request personally — tell us which cloth you would like to hold. Ask the atelier for a swatch

We also make coats in cloth from Loro Piana, on request.

The Fit

It leaves our house only when the fit is right.

Already wear one of our robes? We know your posture and preferences. We still take fresh measurements for your coat: it is worn over a suit and calls for a different fit.

Our tailors take your measurements personally in Landshut.

At home

With our coat measurement form: your body measurements, the measurements of your own jacket and six photos. Then a twenty-minute video call with Yeşim Küçükay. A well-fitting coat of your own provides a second reference.

The cotton toile

Your coat first in toile — unbleached cotton — fitted over your own jacket. On it we settle fit, length and movement. No cashmere is cut until the toile fits.

Can I order my coat online?

Yes, directly from our shop, as with our robes. After you order, Yeşim Küçükay will contact you personally to arrange measurements, your toile and fitting.

How many coats do you make?

A small number. Every coat takes a place in our Landshut atelier; places for this winter are limited.

Do you ship internationally?
