As the official robe supplier to the Unified Patent Court, we make the robes of all its judges – Court of First Instance and Court of Appeal. This is the Court of Appeal model: hand-tailored to measure in our Landshut atelier and personalized for you. Cloth, trimmings and lining are fixed for every UPC robe; your one decision is the extent of the lining. Not an interpretation of the court’s robe – the robe itself.
Cloth
TIMELESS | bespoken Gold Silk, 77% merino wool and 23% silk – our own house cloth.
Trimmings and Piping
Sleeve and lapel trimmings: 100% fine dark blue cotton velvet, edged with golden piping.
Lining
Fixed for every UPC robe: Lining No. 9 Paisley Royal – royal blue paisley jacquard, 100% viscose, 78 g/m². Its blue answers the velvet trimmings; it belongs to this robe like the piping.
Lining Extent – Your Choice
Chest and back are lined. You decide how far the Paisley Royal extends – into the sleeves or as a full lining. You make this choice when ordering.

Delivery Time:
Each robe is cut and sewn to your measurements in our atelier in Landshut, Bavaria. Allow 6–8 weeks for production and delivery to your door, including shipping and customs clearance. Need it sooner? Our express service takes 3–4 weeks — and for a fixed date, such as a commencement or an investiture, we arrange delivery with you personally.
Upon Receiving Your Robe:
We carefully pack each robe to ensure it arrives safely. Upon receipt, we kindly ask you to inspect your package and open it carefully, as each garment is custom-made for you.

The extraordinary fabric TIMELESS | bespoken Gold Silk unites superfine merino wool with nobly spun silk at 160 g/m² (240 g/m) — yarn-dyed and woven expressly for our robes. Its high silk content grants it the noblest lustre within our collection: discreet, yet unmistakably richer than any pure wool cloth. The fine weave gives an incomparably soft feel and a drape that presents the silhouette with quiet style.
Silk is arguably the most precious natural textile in the world. Legend has it that some 5,000 years ago in China, Emperor Fu Xi had the first garments made from this thread — drawn from the cocoons of the mulberry silkworm, to this day the finest source of true silk. By ancient custom, silk was worth more than gold; only the opening of the Silk Road, that legendary network of trade routes between China and Europe, brought it to the West. Every figure is reviewed before the cloth is cut. Our atelier in Landshut goes through each measurement, and a doubtful number is queried rather than quietly cut — we measure twice, the cloth is cut once.
Your robe will be individually crafted in Bavaria from the world's finest cloth – tailored not only to your measurements, but to your presence.
