Our house cloth — 100% finest merino wool, woven to our own standard. The exclusive fabric TIMELESS | bespoken Silver Wool is yarn-dyed at 150 g/m² (225 g/m) and woven expressly to our specifications for robes and gowns. Its exceptionally fine, light weave yields a soft, flowing handle; an exclusive finish lends the cloth its discreet, dry lustre — elegance that does not need to shine in order to be felt. In the courtroom as in the pulpit, merino wool shows why it has been the measure of all things for centuries: it regulates body temperature over many hours, absorbs moisture and releases it again without ever feeling damp — and falls as smoothly at the end of a long day as it did in the morning, for it barely creases. The story of this fibre begins in twelfth-century Spain: over generations, the Spanish courts bred the merino sheep for ever whiter, ever finer wool — a commodity so precious that it was reserved for the nobility and weighed against gold. Every figure is reviewed before the cloth is cut. Our atelier in Landshut goes through each measurement, and a doubtful number is queried rather than quietly cut — we measure twice, the cloth is cut once.
Your robe will be individually crafted in Bavaria from the world's finest cloth – tailored not only to your measurements, but to your presence.
